Welcome to Year 3! We are really excited about the learning that is to come over the course of this year.
We started off with our first topic, learning all about prehistoric Britain focussing on the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We learned how to be archaeologists and historians searching for evidence and artefacts to learn about the past. The children particularly enjoyed learning about the different animals that were found in Britain during this period and wrote stories about the famous Stone Age family 'The Croods'.
Moving into the Spring term, we are having a geographical focus learning all about our natural planet. This will include topics of mountains, rivers and animals. We will be learning all about different areas of the world, how they were formed and how humans are impacting animals and their habitats.
In the final term, we'll move back to a more historical focus with Ancient Egypt. We will be applying our archaeological skills and using evidence to learn more about the life and traditions of people in Ancient Egypt.
Check this page for updates on our learning, as well as important information regarding homework and trips. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
Thank you, Mr Bailey and Miss McCabe
