Week commencing 23rd Sept 2019

In maths this week we have been working on using mathematical language to answer reasoning questions. Here is Emma's wonderful sentence of reflection - I particularly like the last word!In English we have been putting ourselves in the shoes of a WWII evacuee and writing letters home. The class have created some absolutely wonderful characters. Here is Max's beautifully written letter.  What a fantastic range of sentence openers!

In history we learnt about the bombing of British and German cities during WWII and found out about the shelters that families used to protect themselves during the air raids. We then used only paper and masking tape to make our own Anderson Shelters which we tested by dropping a bomb (an egg) from a height. We were incredibly impressed by the strength of our Anderston shelters - only one collapsed!
