MONDAY

Maths:

English - writing/grammar:

  • Write a poem about Spring.

Explore various types of poem before writing your own. Will yours be a rhyming, shape, acrostic or other type of poem?

English - reading:

  • Skill - prediction.

Find a book in your house, look at the front cover and predict what it could be about. Tell a member of your family and see if you are right!

Topic: 

  • Science - Sound

Create a poster about sound - use the facts we have learnt in school and any additional research you find from the internet and books to help you with this.


TUESDAY

Maths:

  • Read to a friend or relative who you have not seen for a while on Face Time, Skype or another online application.

WEDNESDAY

English - writing/grammar:

  • Write a book review

Choose a book that you have read recently and write a review.

What happens? What characters are there?

How many stars would you rate it and why?

THURSDAY

Maths:

  • Maths Dictionary

Start creating your own Maths dictionary with key maths vocab and their definitions.

Eg:

Even number: any number ending in 0,2,4,6,8.

Tesselate: to cover (a plane surface) by repeated use of a single shape, without gaps or overlapping

Keep this safe and add to this over the coming weeks!

Topic:

  • British Values

Using the internet, do some research on St George's day. Why do people celebrate this day? Who was St George? Make notes and keep them, you will need them tomorrow!


FRIDAY

Maths:

  • Log on to Education City and complete the maths activity. 

English - writing/grammar:

  • Using the research you did yesterday, write an information text on St George’s Day.

English - reading:

  • Dress up like a character from your book. Then read!

PE:

  • In your garden or in a large space in your house, create your own mini Olympics! Will you have an opening ceremony? What events will you have? How will your winners be rewarded?
