Reception

Welcome to Trumpington Meadows Reception.

This year our topics will be:

Autumn Term - All About Me and Celebrations

Spring Term - On The Move and Storytelling

Summer Term - Growing and Minibeasts

You can find more information in the Learning Newsletters and Curriculum Information tab to the right, including the national curriculum expectations for Reception.

P.E. is on Fridays and will be taught by our specialist P.E. teacher, Mrs Lewis.

Children should have a full P.E.kit in school at all times (shorts, T-shirt, plimsolls/trainers and socks).  Please name all items

Jewellery including earrings are not allowed for PE.

         General reminders:

Your child should bring their book bag to school every day, especially on Friday, which is book-changing day

Please send your child with a named water bottle on Monday morning.  They will bring the bottle home on Friday to be washed.

Please click on the 'Newnham Class' Tab to find out about the learning that your children have been involved in over the term.

We will assume that you wish your child to eat a hot lunch every day unless you inform us otherwise. If your child is bringing a packed lunch to school, please make sure it is stored in a small packed lunch bag and not in a bulky backpack.

Welcome to your Reception Class page.

We hope that your child feels happy and comfortable settling into their new class with us.

Mrs Bryant teaches in class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Ms Coppola teaches in class on Thursdays and Fridays. Every Wednesday afternoon will be taught by Miss Bird. Our full time Early Years Teaching Assistant is Miss Lawson.

Children will be coming in for half days only this week: Tuesday-Friday either in the morning or the afternoon sessions, as you have been informed. Next Monday 9th September, ALL children will come into school in the morning, stay for lunch and then go home at 12.15. Please collect your child promptly.

The next day - Tuesday 10th September - all children will come to school in the morning, stay for lunch and then stay until the end of the day, to be picked up at 3.00pm

Please talk to a member of staff if you feel that your child would benefit from a longer settling-in period.

Please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff in the Office or in class if you have any questions.
