Home Learning (Week 5) 29th June

For Phonics this week we are revising the 'ee' and 'ai' codes.

Please visit the website links tab for your Phonics activities.

This weeks Tapestry challenge is  to talk about ,understand and have a go at completing the life cycle of a butterfly. Please share  your challenge on Tapestry by Friday 3rd July.

Listen to 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY

or read the book together at home if you have your own copy.

As you listen to the story pick out the key vocabulary such as egg, caterpillar, chrysallis and butterfly.

Discuss the life cycle of the butterfly as you go through the story. Discuss the important information that the children need to complete the independent activity.

Complete the cut and stick butterfly life cycle  activity. (see worksheets below)

It is important that your child understands that the life cycle is circular-that it keeps going around.

Have fun!

Please ask your child to have a go at drawing their own life cycle and label it.

If your child is really secure with the knowledge and understanding of the life cycle of a butterfly then they could try and choose a different minibeast for this weeks life cycle challenge.
