Iron Age Shields

We have had a brilliant time designing and making our own Iron Age shields.  Do you think we look terrifying?

Exploring shadows.

The sun shone for us today and we were able to go outside and investigate shadows.  We drew around our shadows at two hourly intervals and observed how his shadow changed in angle and length.

'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!'

We have started our Christmas preparations practising carols for Kings Chapel and Anstey Hall.  We are really enjoying our singing.  For Kings we are practising 'O' Come All Ye Faithful' and 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks'.  For Anstey Hall we are practising 'Away in a Manger' and 'Calypso Carol'.

Sunset over Stonehenge

We used colour-mixing techniques to create our own sunsets of Stonehenge.  We are really proud of how beautiful they look.

Iron Age Activity Day at Wandlebury

What a fantastic day we had learning about Iron Age life at Wandlebury Hill Fort.  We had a go at threshing and grinding wheat before making our own bread.  Baking our bread on sticks over an open fire was the highlight of the day, even though the smoke blew in our eyes.  The bread was really tasty.
