Year 2

CHRISTMAS PLAY

All costumes need to be in class by Wednesday the 5th of December in a bag clearly labelled with your child's name. Please also ensure that all clothing items are clearly labelled.

CHRISTMAS PLAY TICKETS

This Monday (the 3rd of December), your child will be sent home with a letter asking for preferences for viewing the key stage 1 Christmas play. There will be 2 shows: Monday the 10th of December at 9.30am and Tuesday 11th December at 1.30 pm. You will be able to view only one of these shows and each student will be allotted 2 tickets. Please ensure that preference slips are filled in and returned to the office no later than Wednesday the 5th of December- slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  On Thursday the 6th of December 2018 your child will be sent home with tickets for either the Monday or the Tuesday show.

***Phonics Folders***

We have put a pause on sending home phonics folders due to Christmas play madness- we will resume sending folders after the play

Phonics folders (purple) are now being taken home every day. Please use this opportunity to help your child practice their phonics for 5 minutes every night, e.g.; practice reading the words we have studied in class; practice writing the letter pattern and saying the phoneme (sound) at the same time; discuss which other digraphs (sets of letters) make the same phoneme (sound).

Please make sure phonics folders return to school every morning.

Our newsletter is here! Click the link below to download a copy. Hard copies have also been sent home with pupils. Because the newsletter has gone out later than planned, the topic homework found on the back of the newsletter will be homework for the entire TERM (not the half-term).

The final collection date for topic homework is  December Friday 14th of December. Your child should bring in any photos, projects, or writing on this date.  If homework is brought in before this date, we will keep it safe and ready for sharing on the 14th. The hard work they have done will be celebrated on this day and earned house points will be given out.

Weekly Talk Topic:

Week of half term: How do you think the people of London felt as the fire spread and they realised that many of their friends and family were in danger?
