Year 2

Our new topic this term is The Stories People Tell. We are LOVING reading and comparing books from different authors. You can read books by Anthony Browne, Julia Donaldson, or Eric Carle at home to get children excited about the stories different people tell!

TRIP: Confirmation came late, but we are going to the library by foot next Friday, 1st February and we would love parent volunteers! Please contact Ms Stow or Mrs McIntosh if you are interested in a crisp 10(ish) minute walk to the library next week!

**Phonics Folders**

Phonics folders (purple) are now being taken home every day. Please use this opportunity to help your child practice their phonics for 5 minutes every night, e.g.; practice reading the words we have studied in class; practice writing the letter pattern and saying the phoneme (sound) at the same time; discuss which other digraphs (sets of letters) make the same phoneme (sound).

Please make sure phonics folders return to school every morning.

Our Spring newsletter is here! Click the link below to download a copy. Hard copies have also been sent home with pupils.

The final collection date for topic homework is WEEK BEGINNING 11TH FEBRUARY.  Any homework brought in before this date will be sent home again, so that it doesn't get lost or broken before our special sharing day on Friday 15th February. Thank you for your understanding.. The hard work the children have done will be celebrated on this day and earned house points will be given out.

Weekly Talk Topic:
