Week commencing 9th Sept 2019

This has been a week full of first experiences - and what a busy week it has been. The children have been learning how to line up in the morning to come into school; they have been learning how to line up in the lunch hall and make choices about the food that they want to eat and they have had their first P.E. lesson which was spent mostly having a go at changing their clothes independently! We were very impressed at how many children had a full set of named P.E. kit ready and also at how willing they were to tackle the challenges that were set. Well done, all of you.

Thank you to all the adults who were able to join us on Friday to share a school lunch experience with the children. It was really lovely to have so many of you there - we hope that you enjoyed the food and that you found this a valuable experience.

All the children in Newnham Class visited the library for the first time this week and chose a book to take home to share with you. Please spend time over the next week looking at the book together, talking about the pictures and picking out any sounds/letters that they may recognise from their own name or that they already know. Please make sure that the book is returned EVERY FRIDAY in order that your child can choose a new book - we are sorry but cannot issue new library books each week unless the old one is returned. Thank you for your support with this.

Below are a few pictures of some of the lovely outdoor learning that the children have enjoyed this week. They were particularly keen on making obstacle courses!
