Week commencing 9th Sept 2019

Firstly, hello and welcome to Year 6!  This will be an exciting, challenging and busy year for all of us; Year 6 is full of additional responsibilities and opportunities and it is a year in which the children truly do shine!

We have been establishing our expectations this week and have identified values we believe in.  In July, the children produced inspirational posters which reflect the way we will proceed in Year 6!

We have also begun to explore our new topic: Blood, Sweat and Tears.  This will look at the Second World War and we will learn about the major events of the war, what life was like for people throughout the conflict and the legacy it has left on our world today.  We began by thinking about our first key question - 'How did someone like Adolf Hitler become leader of Germany?' - and by creating Blitz poetry to accompany our skyline artwork.

Please do remember that, should you wish to secure a place on the Year 6 residential to Hilltop this year, you will need to fill in a form as soon as possible.  Please do speak to me or the office should you have any financial concerns or further questions.

Have a great weekend!
