Week commencing 25th Nov 2019
Autumn 2 - Week 5
English
This week we have been learning about writing instructions and the different language features needed to write them effectively.
Here is Leon's work on ordering sentences and time adverbials.
In Grammar we have been learning about parenthesis - adding extra information to a sentence.
Here is Tyler's work on parenthesis.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been learning about area. Area is the measurement of the amount of space a shape takes up. It is measured in squares. To work out the area you multiply the length and the width.
Here is Ida's work on area.
Design Technology
This week we looked at building bridges. Children had to build a bridge between 2 tables with a gap of 40cm. They had a budget of £100 (paper cost £10 per piece, tape cost £10 per 10cm strip and a paper clip cost £3). Children had to work together to build their bridge without going over budget. Their bridges had to support a toy car travelling across it.
Art
Here are some of our finished Christmas decorations ready to be sold at the Christmas fair - £2 each.
