Week Commencing 9th December

This week we have been doing lots of things as a build-up towards Christmas.

On Monday, we watched a pantomime, 'Beauty and the Beast'. All  the different parts were played by just two actors! The children really enjoyed watching and taking part in this performance.

The children in Newnham Class sang really joyously for our Christmas Concert. We were so pleased that you came along to enjoy our performance.

The children enjoyed a fantastic Christmas lunch, served by the pupils in Year 6. Thank you, Year 6 pupils!

And the children all had a go at making (and eating!) mince pies! They were delicious.

The children have been learning about the meaning of Christmas, the Nativity story and why Christmas is an important Christian festival. We have learned phonemes /ll/ (shell, fill,  pull) and /f/ (feather, golf, flower). We are sending your child's phonics folder home for you to look at and work on together over the Christmas holiday.

Please ensure that your child brings it back to school on Monday 6th January.

Have a great weekend and we will see you next week for the final three days of term.

Remember: the last day of school is on Wednesday 18th December.
