Children will be collected from and delivered to the entry and exit points by their teacher or teaching assistant.

We are aware that there potentially is up to a 30 minute wait for some families between dropping off upper KS2 children and dropping off KS1 children. Therefore, for families who have this 30 minute gap between drop offs, please speak to a member of staff on the gates who will happily supervise the siblings in the main playground until the start of school.

Years 5 and 6 will be able to walk to and from school independently if a permission form has already been submitted to the school office.  If you require a form, please request this from the school office via office@fawcett.cambs.sch.ukoffice@trumpingtonmeadows.cambs.sch.uk or from the website - https://www.trumpingtonfederation.co.uk/page/?title=Policies&pid=14 (scroll right to the bottom!).  Parents and carers are asked to remind their children who are walking to and from school independently to observe social distancing rules.  If we have concerns that children are not able to adhere to social distancing when by themselves we will ask parents and carers to accompany them to and from school.

We ask that parents leave the entry and exit points as soon as children have been dropped off and collected and do not congregate around the school sites. Parents will not be allowed onto the school premises.

The bike racks will be open and will be allocated as follows:

  • If you are entering school using Entrance A, please use the usual bike rack labelled Zone A
  • If you are entering using Entrance B, please use the usual bike rack labelled Zone B
  • If you are entering using Entrance C, please use the bike rack by the gate, labelled Zone C.

School Meals

Packed lunches only will be offered from September until at least October half term; we will keep this under review and let you know as soon as we are able to offer hot lunches.  Children can still bring their own packed lunches.  Those children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will still receive their free (packed) lunch under the Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme and those children in other year groups who qualify for Free School Meals will still receive their lunch free of charge.

Uniform and other requirements

Children will be expected to wear school uniform except on days when our younger children are attending Forest School.  Details of the Forest School days will be communicated to you at the beginning of the new school year.

Children should wear clean uniform each day.

On days where children have PE, they should come to school in their PE kit (they can wear jogging bottoms or leggings on colder days) - they will stay in their PE kit for the day so there is no need to send uniform to change into.  PE days will be communicated to you at the beginning of the new school year.

Playtime and PE will be outside, regardless of the weather – please send your child with an appropriate coat on wet days.  You are welcome to send in an extra (named) raincoat which can be kept in school.

Behaviour expectations

We will be adapting our behaviour policy however any of our usual expectations of behaviour will apply. However a range of preventative and protective steps will also be in place as children will not be given time outs in other classes in order not to cross bubbles.   Behaviours that place the health, wellbeing and safety of staff and other children at risk will not be tolerated and we may have to consider exclusion in cases where a child’s behaviour is prejudicial to the safety of others.  We will work closely with parents and carers to ensure appropriate support is available for children where behaviour is causing a concern.
