A message from The Head of School
My name is Shameem Khan and I am delighted to introduce myself as Head of School at Fawcett Primary school and Nursery. I feel honoured to have been chosen to continue to build on the successes the school has already achieved.
During my first few days last week, I was made to feel very welcome by all the wonderful children,
parents/carers and staff and I am looking forward to working in partnership with the whole community to continue to make Fawcett and the Trumpington Federation an excellent place to learn.
I started my working life in finance before retraining to become a teacher. Over the past ten years in education, I have gained valuable experience by working in Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridge and my teaching experience ranges from KS1 across to the whole of KS2 with specialism in areas such as maths, history and assessment.
Since 2016, I have been working as an Assistant Headteacher based predominantly at our partner school (Trumpington Meadows) which I have seen grow to become an exciting place in the heart of the community. As part of my role, I was responsible for teaching and learning and developing a stimulating curriculum to improve outcomes for all I am very aware of the responsibility we all share in ensuring that the highest standards of teaching and learning are achieved. We are extremely lucky to have a very committed team of staff and highly motivated children which of course, is an excellent starting point for any school. Our children’s needs are paramount when making decisions. We strongly believe in providing the children with the most engaging, meaningful and
creative learning experiences to ignite their enthusiasm for further learning. I am confident that we can work together to further strengthen our school community through mutual respect, values and positive relationships.
