Science- The secret life of snails

Trinity class met little new buddies today; snails that we borrowed from one of the Y2 classes. The snails were so happy and relaxed in our classroom that they even laid eggs, and not one or two but... three eggs!!

It was a nice experience and children wondered some questions that they could ask the snails: What's your name, How old are you? What did you have for lunch? How do you feel moving inches each day? Why are you so slimy?

The last question inspired us to continue with our investigation: we learnt what snails use slime for and we even got to make our own slime. (You just need cornflower, cheap shampoo and a bit of water... In case that you want to try at home).

It was such a sticky situation!
