Jewish New Year
Mrs. Naatani, one of the mums in Y4 came to Trinity class and to Wolfson class to teach us why food is so important for the Jewish New Year that was celebrated recently.
We learnt that apples and honey, pomegranate and fish head are consumed by Jewish during this celebration.
Apples and honey: They eat these because they are both sweet and they want to start a sweet year.
Pomegranate: Because these have many seeds and they believe that each seed will be transformed into good deeds.
Fish Head: They want to go at the top and not at the bottom of their new year resolutions.
Children from Trinity class were lucky enough to try apples and honey to continue a sweet week.
