Shakespeare!

We have started our new topic, looking at the plays of William Shakespeare by learning the story of Macbeth!

As a class, we learned the story of Macbeth and then discussed who we thought was most responsible for the tragedy that ensued.  By a narrow margin, the class decided that the Three Witches were the most guilty, followed by Lady Macbeth.  Only a handful of children decided that Macbeth was the most to blame!  Over the next few weeks, we will use Macbeth and other Shakespeare plays in our work: we will be writing alternative endings to the play; discussing human nature, revenge, democracy and the power of history in our topic lessons; and producing witch-based artwork and poetry!

Hopefully, all parents have received a letter explaining the procedure for SATS week and the provided breakfast for the week of the 13th May.  Please do come and see me should you have any questions about the arrangements for the week.  Additionally, many thanks for all the Hilltop payments.  More information will come out regarding the trip in the coming weeks and the parent information evening will be held at Fawcett on the 4th June - all final payments do now need to be made as a matter of urgency.   Many thanks again for all your support.
