Year 1

Our curriculum has been developed to provide exciting and enriching learning opportunities for our children, with meaningful experiences supporting their learning.

Below you can view the topics and associated learning activities for each half term throughout the year.

Our full curriculum overview page has full curriculum statements for each subject, where we set out the intent behind the curriculum design for all learning areas and the outcomes expected for our children.

National Curriculum standards can be read on the Gov.uk website. Our bespoke curriculum aligns with the requirements of the National Curriculum.

Home Learning

At the Trumpington Federation, we support, challenge and inspire our pupils in fulfilling their potential and our homework programme provides the opportunity for children to expand their thinking, as well as reinforce the learning from the classroom.

We set a range of challenges for the children to complete depending on the year group; our homework menus give our children ownership over their learning.

The expectation that our children read five times a week not only supports our English work but allows a child to develop their skill set to enable them to access the wider curriculum.

Maths is an essential part of learning at the Trumpington Federation, and we use Times Tables Rockstars as it provides children with a fun and accessible way to become fluent with numbers.

Some home learning tasks are set on Google Classroom.  If you do not have your child's login details, please contact the class teacher.
