Week commencing 9th March 2020

Maths:  We’ve been learning how to add and subtract fractions this week. We’ve also been finding fractions of quantities, using the bead strings and counters to help us with this. Can you remember what the important rule is when adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator?

English:  We have been writing our own news reports based on the Anglo Saxon golden cross – a hugely significant archaeological find which was uncovered on our doorstep in Trumpington! We have also started planning ideas for another news report which we'll write up for our warm writes next week. Can you tell an adult at home what your warm write news report is about? What are the 5w’s? Watch this space for some examples of our writing…

Topic: We’ve been learning about the religious beliefs and the gods and goddesses from the Anglo Saxon times. In addition, we have been practising our sketching skills when designing our own Anglo Saxon brooches. Look at how concentrated and focused we were when sketching our designs!
