Week commencing 2nd March 2020

What an exciting week we've had! On Tuesday, we went to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology as part of our Anglo Saxon topic. We saw lots of Anglo Saxon artefacts, including the incredibly beautiful and rare Golden Cross – which was actually found in Trumpington! We also had lots of fun re-enacting an Anglo Saxon burial!

On Thursday, lots of us dressed up as characters from our favourite books for World Book Day. Characters included Harry Potter, Mrs Twit, The Queen of Hearts, Gangsta Granny and Sophie and the BFG, to name just a few! We enjoyed taking part in a variety of book-based activities and also invited Year 2 Fitzwilliam into our classroom to share some stories together. Thursday also saw the start of the much-anticipated Readathon challenge! Keep reading and logging your minutes. Remember, any sponsorship money you collect will go towards some new electronic equipment for the class. Mrs Kirby is also taking part…. so why not see if you can beat her?! :)
